Singapore Idol or Singapore Idiot?

I just happened to catch the encore telecast of the first episode of Singapore Idol last night. In its 2nd year of broadcast here in Singapore. I've been reading alot about the Singapore Idol contestants in the newspaper since it first started the new season. I must say, what is wrong with you Singaporeans? So many of you, who so obviously cannot even hold a single note in tune, are trying to be the next Singapore Idol. Seriously, to those who cannot sing, have you ever tried hearing yourself sing? Can you honestly say that you can sing. Lets not say sing well but can you even sing in tune? You can't. 70% of those horrible singers they showed on tv cannot even get a bloody note right. Some of them cannot even pronounce the words correctly, let alone remember the lyrics to the songs. I understand that many of you have ambitions to be the next Singapore Idol. You want fame, money and "Idol" status. I don't fault you for that but maybe you really should try something else. Singing is just not for you. I really feel sorry for the judges. They have to put up with so much nonsense while doing the auditions. If I was one of the judges, I'll very likely punch someone in the face when they come in ranting and raving on how good they are and how they are going to be the next Singapore Idol and they sing like a cat being strangled. Why can't some people just accept the fact that they cannot sing. Look at some of the people who returned after last year's rejection. They were either the same as last year, or even worse. These people should stop trying and just stay at home. They are making a fool of themselves on national tv. I'm not saying that its not brave of them to go and try but you have to weigh the consequences too. Which will people remember more and for a longer period of time?

Singapore Idol wannabe who is brave and tries his best ---VS---
Singapore Idol reject and becomes a nation wide laughing stock?

You go figure!
