Dim Sum Dollies

Dim Sum Dollies.

I've been to my fair share of musicals and plays. Heck, I've even acted, co-directed and managed musicals before. But what I saw tonight gave me a whole new meaning to the world of theater. I admit, I'm not the most creative person. Musicals I've done before were what you would normally consider "drama". Dim Sum Dollies, now that is what a musical should be like. I've heard rave reviews about the first musical so Jasmine and me decided to watch the second one. The way the musical was carried out was unique. A mixture of culture, politics and down right controversial topics. You'll be surprise to see that even though the musical has been showing since before National Day, the topics they talk about during the show is about the current presidential election, or rather the lack of a presidential election, NKF and TT Durai, the Integrated resort and many other topics. Their ability to add humor to the whole thing, sing them in songs and keep us laughing for 2 and a half hours was worth every cent. I urge all of you to watch it! Its funny, witty and clever. I've also heard that they are extending another 5 shows due to huge demand. So for those who have not watched it, please go watch it. It is the musical of the year!

Patriotism

Patriotism.

Patriotism. This word usually comes up in my conversations when I try to explain to people why I decided to sign on with the military. People are always asking me why? Am I that patriotic? Do I love my country that much? Sometimes I really don't know what to say. I don't really consider myself a patriot. But I guess the bottom line is that, if Singapore were to ever go to war with anyone, I know I can do my part to protect my family and loved ones. I won't say I love my country because I'm forever complaining about the government and the rules but I will definitely fight for Singapore to protect the people I care about. Anyways, it will be National Day in 3 days time. Just want to wish all of you guys and gals out there Happy National Day. Enjoy the holiday and stay out of trouble. Hahaha....

Ugly Singaporeans

The Ugly Side to Singaporeans!

I'm not one to bitch and bicker about people but I seriously think that the way Singaporeans behave is really getting out of hand. I know that the lable "Kiasu" is stuck with us. But come one guys, do we really need to behave in such a disgraceful manner. Take a look at a few examples below. I'm sure you'll find them true.

MRT/BUS : What is it with trying to push in and out of the MRT/Bus all the time? No one has any patience. The moment the train doors open everyone tries to squeeze past easch other trying to get the seat or a good standing position. Will it kill you people to wait and be orderly? One time i was in a really packed train coming back from school when this guy tried to push his way in. It was already so crowded that I was standing so close to the door my nose could almost touch the glass. suddenly this guys runs and pushes his way in just as the door was about to close. At that point of time I was ready to hit him on the head. Then guess what he did, he took out a news paper and tried to read it. Couldn't he see that it was crowded as it already was? What a freaking idiot!

Traffice lights/Lifts : Why is it that people think that buy pressing the button will make the light change faster or make the lift move faster? Can't you just press it once and wait? NO! You freakin people will stand there and keep pressing it till the lights chane or the lifts come.

Manners : If the bus or train is crowded and you need to exit please say "excuse me" or "pardon me". Why must you push and say "esssskew" (pronounced as SQ) What the hell does "essskew" mean? Are you trying to tell me that you're trying to get on board a Singapore Airlines plane? Only SIA has the abbrivation "SQ". Why can you learn how to pronounce it properly and not push people at the same time. It defeats the purpose if you're going to push people away. Might as well not say anything right.

Dressing : I won't say much about how you dress. You know very well how badly you all dress. But I really want to just say to all of you people who dress up in those tight tapered pants or jeans with all the leather jackets with metal shit hanging everywhere, you guys look like idiots. Ok, you may tell me, that you want to follow your music influences. Fine, some of you dress that way trying to be some NAZI PUNK or some shit like that, first of all do you know that NAZI's are racist. That means they hate coloured people. They only like themselves which so happens to be white people. So you dress and proclaim to be like them but you're of a different skin colour. How can you be racist when you happened to be the group of people that are the coloured ones. Are you all blind or just too stupid to realise that.

As you can all see, Singaporeans really have nothing to be proud off. We may be a modern wealthy country, but if the people of this country continue with their selfish and self-centered behaviour, we're not going to progress very far.
